This Privacy Policy describes how Excel Text Alerts (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use:
- The Excel Text Alerts add-in for Microsoft Excel (the “Add-in”), and
- Any related websites, documentation, or services (together, the “Service”).

2. Information we collect
We collect the following types of information when you use the Service.
2.1 Account and contact information
- Name (if you provide it)
- Email address
- License key(s) associated with your purchase
This information may be collected directly by us or via our payment provider.
2.2 Billing and purchase information
Purchases for Excel Text Alerts are processed by Lemon Squeezy, a third-party payment provider. We receive information about your purchase (such as what you bought, date, and license key), but we do not store your full payment card details. Those are handled securely by Lemon Squeezy.
2.3 Alert configuration data
When you configure alerts in the Add-in, we may collect:
- The phone number(s) you choose to receive alerts on
- The custom alert messages you define
- Basic metadata about the spreadsheet and conditions that trigger alerts (e.g., “alert when cell A2 > 500”), but not the full contents of your workbook
We use this information to send the alerts you configure, to enforce usage limits (for example, the 20-alerts-per-day limit), and to prevent messages against our policies (such as spam or harassment).
2.4 Usage and log data
When the Add-in or Service contacts our servers, we may automatically log:
- IP address
- Browser or app type and version
- Date and time of requests
- API endpoint used and response codes
- Aggregated usage counts (e.g., how many alerts were triggered today)
- Other business information necessary to run the company
We use this to operate, secure, and improve the Service. We may use cookies for affiliate marketing.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the Service (including sending SMS alerts you configure)
- Validate your license and enforce usage limits
- Communicate with you about your account, support requests, and product updates
- Monitor, detect, and prevent abuse, spam, fraud, or security issues
- Affiliate marketing
- Comply with legal obligations
4. SMS and email messages
When you enable SMS or email alerts in the Add-in and provide a phone number, you:
- Confirm that you own or have permission to use that number or email address, and
- Consent to receive messages related to the alerts you have configured, and
- Consent to any fees from sending the messages from your carrier.
Message frequency: Depends on how you configure your alerts. We limit use to a maximum of 20 alerts per day per user, but you may receive fewer.
Message & data rates may apply. Check your mobile carrier plan.
How to stop messages:
- You can disable alerts at any time within the Excel Add-in; and/or
- Reply “STOP” to any message to stop SMS alerts to that number.

Mobile carriers and Excel Text Alerts are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.
5. How we share information
We may share your information with:
- Service providers:
- Lemon Squeezy (billing, license management)
- Vonage or other SMS providers (sending SMS alerts)
- Hosting providers (e.g., Azure or similar cloud infrastructure)
- Professional advisors (lawyers, accountants) where necessary
- Authorities if required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, property, and safety
- Affiliates and third parties for sales
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
6. Data retention
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including:
- For as long as you have an active license or account
- For a reasonable period afterwards for business, backup, audit, and legal compliance
We may retain aggregated or anonymized data that does not identify you personally. Our third parties may retain information.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical measures to protect your information, but we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children’s privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your choices and rights
You can:
- Disable SMS alerts at any time in the Add-in settings
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at support@exceltextalerts.com
- Opt out of non-essential email communications (e.g., newsletters) via the unsubscribe link in those emails
If you are located in a region that grants specific legal rights (such as the EU/EEA or UK), you may have additional rights over your personal data. We will honor those rights as required by applicable law.
10. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top.
